We’re thrilled to announce the latest update to the DroneBlocks Light Show Kit software.
This update not only enhances existing features but also introduces groundbreaking new capabilities that will take your drone light shows to the next level. Let’s dive into the details of two of the most exciting additions—Gradient Light Effects and the Curve Command—and guide you through how to utilize these new tools to create breathtaking aerial displays.
Gradient Light Effects: Create Stunning Color Transitions
Introduction to RGB Color Gradient Command
The new RGB Color Gradient Command allows for dynamic color transitions, adding a layer of visual depth and complexity to your shows. This feature smoothly shifts from one color to another, creating a mesmerizing gradient effect across your drones.
How to Use the RGB Color Gradient Command
- Set Up the Command: Choose the RGB Color Gradient Command for your drone in the command menu.
- Configure Execution Time: The color transition can be set within a 0 to 5-second timeframe, aligning perfectly with the drone’s movement.
- Choose Your Colors: Define the starting and ending colors for the gradient transition.
- Set Flashing Options: Optionally, enable the flashing setting to make the drone blink in sync with the color change, enhancing the visual effect.
- Apply and Test: Implement the command and test your settings to ensure the transition is smooth and visually appealing.
Curve Command: Choreograph Intricate Flight Paths
Understanding the Curve Command
This command introduces the ability to direct drones along curved trajectories, using bezier curves for precision and fluidity. There are two types of bezier controls:
- Bezier3: Single-point control for simple curves.
- Bezier4: Two-point control for more complex shapes, with an option for symmetry to ensure balanced curves.
Implementing the Curve Command
- Select the Command: After calibrating your drone, activate the Curve Command.
- Set the Execution Time: Specify how fast the drone should complete the curve, with a recommended speed of 0.7m/s for optimal control.
- Input the Target Position: Determine the endpoint of the curve.
- Choose Curve Type and Set Control Points: For Bezier3, set one control point. For Bezier4, set two points, and adjust for symmetry if necessary.
- Test Your Setup: Always test the curve in a controlled setting to fine-tune the trajectory and ensure safety.
Tips for Creating a Spectacular Show
- Coordinate Elements: Combine the RGB Color Gradient and Curve Command to synchronize color changes with movement for a cohesive performance.
- Visualize Before Flight: Use the LitebeeClient’s simulation tools to preview and adjust your designs before live deployment.
- Consider Environmental Factors: Account for wind and other environmental conditions which may affect the drone’s flight path and color visibility.
