Micro-Mission Mastery
Program Crazyflie drones to complete a series of precise micro-missions within a confined space. Possible missions include navigating intricate obstacle courses, performing precision landings, or retrieving and delivering small objects. Think drone agility, obstacle courses, and precision landings! Use DroneBlocks or Python to create mission logic that impresses with accuracy and creativity.

How drones can be used to improve everyday life? Use the DEXI drone to develop innovative solutions to real-world problems. Whether environmental monitoring, artistic displays, or practical problem-solving, this challenge is about pushing the boundaries of what's possible with drone technology.

Can you create a captivating drone performance that wows? Design and program a mesmerizing drone light show synchronized to music. Participants will use the Light Show Drone Kit to create a visual spectacle that blends technology with artistry.

How will you use drones in life-saving applications? Program the Unitree quadruped robot to simulate real-life rescue missions or navigate challenging environments. Tasks may include traversing rough terrain, delivering supplies, or conducting search-and-rescue operations.

    Each team must consist of up to 5 students, enrolled at the same school

    No limit to how many teams your school can enter
  • Check Icon
    Teams can participate in one category or multiple categories
  • Check Icon
    Schools must be active DroneBlocks Enterprise members
  • Check Icon
    Schools must submit parental releases for each participating student prior to the submission of any content by any team member.

    All team members must be in good academic standing
  • Check Icon
    Each team must submit a video presentation, including:

      An overview of the project
    • Check Icon
      Roles and responsibilities of each member
    • Check Icon
      Code examples used in the project
  • Check Icon
    Video should not exceed 10 minutes in length
  • Check Icon
    Submission must be original work created by the team
  • Check Icon
    All submissions must be uploaded through the official submission portal on the DroneBlocks website

    Project must fall within one of the specified competition categories outlined on this page

    Teams are encouraged to be creative and innovative while adhering to the technical and safety guidelines provided by DroneBlocks

    All participants must adhere to the highest standards of conduct and sportsmanship.

    Plagiarism, copying, or any form of dishonesty is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate disqualification.

    Respectful and positive interaction with other teams, judges, and DroneBlocks staff is expected at all times.

    Submissions will be judged based on the following criteria:

      Creativity: Originality and innovation of the project idea.
    • Check Icon
      Technical Skill: Complexity and execution of the programming.
    • Check Icon
      Real-World Applicability: Practicality and impact of the project.
    • Check Icon
      Overall Presentation: Clarity, organization, and professionalism of the submission.

    The top 3 finalists in each category will be selected by a panel of judges.
  • Check Icon
    The top 3 finalist projects in each category will be put to a public vote.

    Voting will be open to the entire DroneBlocks community, including students, educators, and general viewers.

    Each participant is allowed one vote per category.
  • Check Icon
    Winning teams in each category will receive a $2,500 in prizes.
  • Check Icon
    Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash.
  • Check Icon
    If a winning team is found to have violated any competition rules, they may be disqualified, and the prize may be awarded to the next highest-ranking team.

    All intellectual property rights in the submissions remain with the team members.
  • Check Icon
    By submitting a project, teams grant DroneBlocks the right to use, reproduce, and display their submissions for any marketing, promotional, or educational purposes as outlined in the Terms and Conditions.

    All projects involving drones or robots must adhere to safety guidelines provided by DroneBlocks.
  • Check Icon
    Teams must ensure that their projects do not pose any risk to themselves, others, or property.

    Any submission that is deemed unsafe or violates safety protocols will be disqualified.

    Late submissions will not be accepted or considered.
  • Check Icon
    DroneBlocks reserves the right to modify or amend these rules at any time. Any changes will be communicated to participants via the DroneBlocks website.

    Any team found to be in violation of these rules may be disqualified at the discretion of DroneBlocks.

    Disqualification may occur at any stage of the competition, including after prizes have been awarded.
