Curriculum teaches the skill. A competition is where a student finds out whether it worked, in front of other teams, against the clock. DroneBlocks hardware and curriculum run inside the Advanced Vertical Robotics Competition, and the flight path on this site is what gets a team ready for it.
Not a race. A payload

AVR runs on a printed map inside a netted arena. Teams fly an autonomous course, move cargo, hit marks, and are scored on it. The drone is a DEXI, so the aircraft a team competes with is the same one they built in class and the same one they flew in the simulator.
AVR is run by EduEverything with MultiGP. DroneBlocks supplies the airframe, the curriculum behind it, and the simulator teams practice in. theavr.org is where registration, the game manual and the season calendar live.

The flight path is the training.
Nothing on this page is a separate product. A team gets to the arena by climbing the same ladder every other DroneBlocks student climbs.
Teams practice the mission in the browser first. The simulator has an AVR track, so a team can fly the season's course before their drone is even out of the box.
Mostly, it looks like work.
